Description: Sweep! Hurry Hard! Guard your rocks! These were the sounds heard coming from the Oshawa Curling Club as the John Howard Society of Durham host their 3rd annual Rock The House curling event this past January. The fun and friendly event was a chance for all ages, and any skill level, to experience a great traditional Canadian past time. For those who were trying the sport for the very first time and feeling intimidated - there were a number of experienced staff on hand to help new players learn how to play. With a goal of raising $2,000, proceeds from the event were being donated to the United Way of Durham Region - an agency that works with a number of programs and agencies to assist those less advantaged in the community. This was just one of a number of fundraising activities the John Howard Society of Durham does throughout the year.
